With the help of the shoemakers’ wife, we decked the window with boughs of holly, santas, and snow. Look for little elf foot prints in the snowflakes, each snowflake has a magical shimmer and glow. Harnessing the soul of the shop with the idea to reduce, reuse and repair, I used leftover extra soles to help create the large white snowflakes. See if you can find the U.S.A. Army footprint snowflake.
I was inspired by the patterns created by the soles of shoes and individual patterns of snowflakes. I also like the idea of tying in the folklore of “The Elves and the Shoemaker” and Santa and his elves by using small “elf” footprints in with the snowflakes.
