Processing Parenthood - Recognizing how much screens are apart of modern day parenting. The pull of social media distracting us from seeing and spending time with our kids. Using screens to capture memories of our kids, looking up information for things to do with and for our kids, and guidance on what to teach our kids. Handheld knowledge and distraction from what’s in front of us; reflecting on our face and a barrier between our child. This maquette is intended to be realized as a large scale stone or cement sculpture, highlighting a buffed shiny reflective surface on the top of the center “screen” portion of the piece.
